SaskBucks
I have heard rumours about guys cleaning their ML at the end of the season when using 777 pellets and having no problems...wondering if anyone here has done the same...I know they do not contain sulphur which is the main corrosive material when burned...any insight...thanks
Guest TheNumber1Young1
Re: triple seven clean up i use the triple seven pellets, its even easier to clean now that i have a break action.but yes it is so easy to clean, i do not have any problems, i run 4 patches down the barrel, and its clean, two with cleaning solvent, and 2 dry patches, and im done. SaskMan
Re: triple seven clean up Tim, I thought it cleaned up real good for me at the end of the year. I do leave my breech out so every now and then I can run a swab of some bore butter through it. I had more trouble with regular pyrodex without a doubt. sasksheds
Re: triple seven clean up I used it last year in my Encore.easy clean up but i found after 3-4 shots my sabbot & bullet were not seating as far down as it should.Guys on here told me to run spit/solvent patch down to clear the fouling ring that was forming from the powder.Anyone else have this prob. Bushman
Re: triple seven clean up I went to the range and shot 20 times using 2 wet patches and then 2 dry every 3rd shot. It loaded well and shot well but when I went to take the breech plug out I had to hammer on my wrench. Next time I'll take the breech out at 10 and do my 2 and 2 right through the gun. I love 777 especially when I cleaned her at home, so easy.
Guest deldeer
Re: triple seven clean up i know it sounds like a pain, but i run my bore mop down the barrel(with 50/50windex/alcohol) between every shot when im sighting in....i do this because when i take it out hunting, it will more than likely be cleaned & ready.i don't like to put them away dirty, & here we can keep them loaded during the season.. it saves me from having to worry about a squib shot, or my acuracy suffering from build up..also when im at the range i will break the breech plug loose than tighten it up again every few shots....seems to stop it from getting stuck... tedicast
Re: triple seven clean up I shoot T7. I swab with windex every shot. 1 wet, 2 dry. It is a pain, but I know I have consistent fouling that way. When I get home. I heat some water to near boiling, and put it in a metal bucket. I throw the breech plug in the bucket to soak, and I put the muzzle end of my Encore barrel in the bucket, and swab it with a patch on a cleaning jag. It sucks the water all the way up to the breech plug area on the up stroke. after about 3 or 4 patches my patches are coming out clean. I use a brush on the plug to getthe fouling, and some gun scrubber on the threads to get the never-seez off. I dry everything well, and run 2 patched with Break Free CLP, and one dry patch, and I'm done. I also apply never seez to my breech plug again at this time, so I am ready to go next time I shoot. too_pointer
Re: triple seven clean up It seems the crud ring does not appear on all guns. I have an earlier Encore with the original style breach plug, and with 777, have never had a buildup. I agree with what tedicast says about cleaning though, I follow the same methods pretty much without the water though, just soapy hot water on my cleaning jag, with good results. [/ QUOTE ] Too...give the bucket a try. It is even easier than a soapy patch. Throw a little soap in the bucket if you prefer it soapy. Just a word of warning. Grap a pot holder or a rag, the barrel tends to get a little warm.

Guest deldeer
Re: triple seven clean up i use to clean with soapy water, but with 777, it is not necesary..i use the 50/50 mix of windex & alcohol.....nothing else...i have the stainless barrel, & when i shine a light down the barrel after i take the breech plug out, it looks like a mirror!!!!!
