Honestly, Id probably shoot the cripple.Ive done it before and used my only buck tag on it which meant I was done bowhunting for the season I just hate to see a deer suffer I guesse.And if its the last day of season odds are decent the big one would give me something to chase next year

I would shoot the monster. There is no question in my mind, it is the monster. I too don't like seeing animals suffer but mother nature would take it's course on the injured deer.

honestly depends on the situation like time of year have you seen the monster before was it the rut

if it was my ground i would shot the 8 pointer chances are you will get another crack at the monster soon enogh during the rut if not he'll be bigger next year

The monster of course. Personally, I could care less about the hurt deer. I'll let nature take its course, yotes got to eat too.

Personally it bugs me when people put deer up on a pedestal. They're approaching vermin status in some parts of Ohio.

I'd shoot whichever presented the best shot first. I don't take any bucks for granted and who's to say that if you did shoot the bigger buck that you wouldn't get a shot at the other buck. In Il that would be very feesible.

It looks to me like everybody has answered this question honestly and in this day and age, that in itself is impressive. When I read the question, I was expecting a lot more of the PC answer. The few that answered that they would take the 8, I do believe that is what they would do, and not just answering that way.

For me, I would have no qualms whatsoever in taking the big boy.

Because of my extream undying case of buck feaver I would first shoot at and miss the monster buck. He would then run off and I would begin shooting at the 8 pt. He would start sadly hobbling off into oblivioun while I carefully aimed and missed shot after shot untill he made it out of sight or I ran out of bullets. Then a few minutes later a doe would come out and I would easily take her with one shot.

But hey, you can't eat the horns.

In SC, with our obscene tag limits,......The clip is empty and there are dead deer everywhere. It would be the second time in my life where I walk out of the woods with a monster in one hand and a 8pt in the other.
