tedicast
Dick's Sporting Goods has 15" Comfort Zone ladder stands on sale for $59. Plus i have a $10 off coupon. Has anyone had any experience with these ladders? Are they worth $49? I'm thinking of picking up couple. I figure they are worth it at that price. Just wondering if anyone else has used one? ruttinbuc
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand They look like a nice ladder. I would say they are comparable to everything else out there in that price range. The only thing I did not like about them is the non-adjustable brace. No biggie though. For the price thay are a good option.
wtnhunt
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand Dont know, but a 15 foot ladder stand for $50 is not bad considering steel prices.
snapper
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand Really don't know anything about the Comfort Zone ladder...but if it really don't have an adjustable brace, it maybe a little tough to get it a certain tree. Don't know how that one works, but I know the couple I have (strong built 20') we've drilled more holes to adjust the brace in or out a little more. Depending on the slope of the ground...the base of the ladder maybe pretty far away from the base of the tree and need a longer brace. If that brace needs to go higher than you can reach...it can be a pain in the neck sometimes. With that said...for $49, don't seem like you could really go wrong with it. BoDice
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand It is the basic ladder stand.... No seat cushion..... No arm rails.....the absolute no frills stand. Nothing wrong with the stand...it is stable and sound....but make sure you buy a seat cushion because after an hour or so....your butt will be numb. One thing is for sure....you probably couldn't "build" it for $49.00! Be good! tedicast
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand I bought one last night. It is a no frills stand, but was surprisingly solid. It does come with a cushion. It has ropes, instead of ratchet straps. I'm going back to buy another one tonight. Can't go wrong for the price. I also ordered 4, 16" ratchet straps from Keystone. Guest deldeer
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand definently use the ratchet straps instead of the rope.....also, you can pick up a package of them at pep-boys, or k-mart pretty cheap... ruttinbuc
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand Those ladder stands are the most convenient set up out there. They make life a little easier and set in the right place can prove to be worth the effort of getting them in. They are more thief resistant than fixed stands as well. I have a couple of ladders that have been there for years. Have to replace a strap now and then, but thats about it. You might also want to make sure you step out the welds on the seat and platform as to not get a "pop" at the wrong moment. If you can find some teflon washers for the bolts that would be a plus as well. You have to get the noise out! Good Luck with your new stands! RangerClay
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand I make my own ladder stands from 2x4's. I use 16' treated lumber for the ladder rails because they touch the ground. Can be cheaper than the skinny steel stands plus I can make my platform as big as I want. I find it to be more comfortable and cheaper than the commercial stands. I must add that I check my stands for wear every August before I spend time in them. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand The steel ladders are nice though compared to the homemade because they come apart in (3) sections so transport is easy and set-up is fast. I have one and love it, mine even has the shooting rail. Only thing I fear while sitting in it is when I leave some SOB doesn't take it!! For $59.00 at Dick's that is a good deal for someone that doesn't want to build a homemade one and they can't find the time to do so. tedicast
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand Well, I went to set one of these up tonight. ruttinbuc, and snapper where right about the non adjustable braces. The tree I need to set up on is on a hill, and the brace is too long. Just got back from Home Depot buying some square tubing. gonna be doing some modifications tomorrow at work. The braces are 39" long, when I'm done they will be adjustable from 25 to 47 inches. That should take care of it.

tedicast
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand [ QUOTE ] I've considered the same stand...Good deal. [/ QUOTE ] I'm happy with the stand, but... I had to fabricate the support bar to be adjustable, and I had to buy ratchet straps, as I don't trust a ladder that is just held up with ropes. So honestly, I have an extra $20 into each stand. I was surprised though at how stury the stands are. I wasn't expecting them to be for the price. All in all I'm not complaining. NY911Bowhunter
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand The next step up in ladders is good too - it has the padded sling seat and shooting rail - adjustable braces too. Just a few bucks more ($20 I think(

Hoosierbuck
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand Not too rugged or too posh, but I hope you kill a buck from yours like I did from mine last season! That P&Y smile still comes back when I think of that hunt...I doubt the buck cared what the stand cost me, but it does matter how many of them you can put out and cover all the bases. tedicast
Re: Comfort Zone 15\' Ladder Stand Maybe not too posh, but comparing them to some ladder I have been in that cost twice as much, they seem pretty rugged.
