hutchies
Well AJ I may end up needing some help on this. I am trying to get ahold of Simmons about the Aetec I bought a month ago. We took my .30-06 out to the range Saturday to sight it in. Set the target at 30 yards and after three shots had it hitting bullseye. Anyway my wife shot the gun, so that was the 4th shot. Walked out to move the target out. Came back and put a shell in. Looked thru the scope and on the left side the lens cracked. I am having some bad luck this year. Anyway I have to get ahold of Simmons today and find out what BS that I am going to have to do.

AJ
Re: Simmons Aetec(Not Good) Was it a Master's Series Aetec? If so they have a 48 hour turn around for them. If its an older one, it may take a little longer. I don't know. They charge $10 for shipping, thats it.
hutchies
Re: Simmons Aetec(Not Good) It is the older series. Hope they don't charge $10. The guy I talked to said to just send it in with a letter explaining what was wrong with it.
wtnhunt
Re: Simmons Aetec(Not Good) If you happened to get it from wal mart, they might exchange it. Had a problem with the first 44 mag scope I bought, and they exchanged it no questions asked, however the problem was found shortly after I bought the scope. hutchies
Re: Simmons Aetec(Not Good) This scope came from Bass Pro. I already called Bass Pro and it was out of the 30 day warranty.

RangerClay
Re: Simmons Aetec(Not Good) I have a pair of Simmons 10x25 binoculars. I broke them about 5 years ago and it was MY fault. I had owned the binoculars for about 2 years before I broke them. I wrote Simmons about what I did and sent the $7 charge. They sent me a brand new and upgraded pair of binoculars instead of fixing mine. I hope you have as much good luck as I did! Ranger
billygoat
Re: Simmons Aetec(Not Good) Just like anything, there's bound to be a bad one somewhere along the way, just send it in! They are a good company, I've got an Aetec and love it, but my prodiamond shotgun scope lost the nitrogen screw... so it's got to be sent back in... they told me no problem! Guess we will see soon enough!
hutchies
Re: Simmons Aetec(Not Good) Here is a photo. It is not real good and you can't tell how long the crack really is but you can see it on the left side. [image][/image]
AJ
Re: Simmons Aetec(Not Good) I think you will find its foreign matter and not a crack. Things look huge in the tube but are quite small. I had a Leupy Varix-III that had the reticle break. It was sent back to Leupy and when it came back it looked like they sat down in a field and fixed it. There was all kinds of crap in the tube. Back it went again. hutchies
Re: Simmons Aetec(Not Good) I thought that at first too and you might be right but you can see where it curves and right at the tip it goes the other direction while tapering off the whole distance of it. When It happened I almost fired another round to see if indeed it was a crack but I figured Simmons would have said it was my fault or some crap like that. wtnhunt
Re: Simmons Aetec(Not Good) Does not look like a crack to me either. Looks almost like a fiber of some sort in the tube.
