waterfowler_gal
A Rehabilitation Center that I volunteer at had this goose brought in. I post this in all seriousness. Teach your friends, your kids, remind yourself what kind of hunter you are and think before you do stuff. It really does make us hunter's look bad. I guess I am really not sure where I am trying to go with this post but I felt it was important to share with everyone. I felt really bad for this little guy. Ok I am done rambling... RJJ
Re: Why? i don't think it is right shoot a goose with a bow. i was always taught that you take the right equipment for what you are hunting. it is really sad that some peolpe are so shallow. they are the type of people that give hunters a bad name. i just wonder if the person that shot that goose would like to carry an arrow around in their body for a while. dogdoc
Re: Why? sad sight! that wasn't a hunter that did that---more like a poacher. td---the only way a goose can get lead poisoning is from ingesting lead--not getting shot by lead bird shot. todd
total disaster
Re: Why? ok I must have been worng I have been before but it was lead shot used and the bird was in hard shape must have just been from the shot in him ?? thanks for the info I thought they could get it from being shot too
RTF
Re: Why? [ QUOTE ] It really does make us hunter's look bad. [/ QUOTE ] Problem is, most likley a hunter did not do it. Puting us in the same category as the individual(s) who did this would be misleading non-hunters.
clayman
Re: Why? It was very likely somebody who was frustrated by all the geese pooping on his lawn. It is also likely that some kid was being stupid at the local archery range. No matter what the scenario was, that just ain't right.

birddog
Re: Why? Not right, and actually illegal: Migratory waterfowl are protected by Federal Laws as well as state laws: The Federal laws state it is illegal to shoot a single projectile (.22, any rifle for that matter, and bows are included) It is illegal...therefore it's a "poacher" whether it be a stupid kid, or a land owner sick of goose poop. coles
Re: Why? ive seen one on tv with an arrow thru its head and it was just out with the rest of the flock walking around and eating just normal but i think waterfowlergals post is just the answer to the bowhunting for waterfowl posted a while ago. [ QUOTE ] Problem is, most likley a hunter did not do it. Puting us in the same category as the individual(s) who did this would be misleading non-hunters. [/ QUOTE ] 9 times out of 10 it probably was someone who calls themselves a hunter. Hunter ...NO, Idiot...YES
