spineshot
just planted a small food plot in a secluded area, we have no stands within shooting distance. Should we place a stand on the edge or hope we catch something coming or going.
ruttinbuc
Re: food plot stand placement Don't hunt on the edge of the plot. You are better off to hunt trails coming and going. There is chance you can spook the deer while in the plot .Once that happens you probably won't see them during daylight hours again.
joebobhunter4
Re: food plot stand placement ive got my food plots 10 yards from my stand and it doesnt seem to bother the deer if i come in quite and sit quiet
wtnhunt
Re: food plot stand placement Depends on how you are hunting. With a bow, you would probably have better luck hunting the trails. Got a ladder blind just over the hill about 5 yards from the bottom of one of our plots, can see for a good ways, that is a rifle and muzzleloader stand only. The tent canvas I have draped around the blind hangs down low enough I can climb up in that blind without ever being spotted if the deer are over the hill. Got a tower blind set right on the edge of a field overlooking another plot. Hunting that one afternoons if you walk out early enough you will see deer pretty well every time you hunt it.
