Guest kyhunter1
It wont throw your shot off much, but you will want to make adjustments to all your sights by shooting with your new broadheads to get them fine tuned again Where you from in ky, I live in pikeville, as far east as you can go. Guest jayjaysin
Re: Field tips to Broadheads I don't find much difference between 100gr and 125gr on my hunting bow. I hunt with 100gr expandables, but I usually carry 1 arrow with an old 125gr fixed blade for varmits, small game, or practice. My bow isn't super fast, and I would see as much human error as I do between the two different weight points.
too_pointer
Re: Field tips to Broadheads I would first buy 100 grn. fieldtips and get your bow resighted in for that, then try your b.h.'s. That would be your first step !! too_
VTbowman
Re: Field tips to Broadheads Out to 20 yards you should not really see much if at all. Past that you will. JMO but why not get 125g BHs? Or stick with 100g field tips? I assume your trying to bump up your weight for better penitration but honestly, how far into the ground does your arrow need to go after the pass threw? LOL Good Luck! dg
Re: Field tips to Broadheads [ QUOTE ] I have got my bow sighted in now with 125 grain field tips on my carbons, but if I went back to 100 grain broadheads, would it effect my shot and make it shoot high? I mean a couple inches isn't a big deal, but it won't throw it off a foot will it? [/ QUOTE ] Don't take this the wrong way, but go prove it. You may go low, high, or 12" to the left with a broadhead. It depends on how it's tuned.

Guest deadeye270
Re: Field tips to Broadheads In a perfectly tuned bow you will see a couple of inches @ 40yds.... but its rare for someone to have a properly tuned bow.
buckee
Re: Field tips to Broadheads switch to 100 grn fieldtips to match your broadheads and quit playing around. [ QUOTE ] I have got my bow sighted in now with 125 grain field tips on my carbons, but if I went back to 100 grain broadheads, would it effect my shot and make it shoot high? I mean a couple inches isn't a big deal, but it won't throw it off a foot will it? [/ QUOTE ] I don't want to get into an arguement or insult you , but don't you think you owe it the the game your hunting to make sure your broadheads are hitting the bulls-eye, instead of playing guessing games at where they are going to hit. Never assume your broadheads will fly the same as your field-tips, even if they are both the same grain heads. You need to play with the broadheads on a target to find out and get your bow tuned properly. Your first step is to match those weights if your going to get your bow tuned for hunting. You owe it to the Deer.
