birddog
Hey guys, my post below had questions about my new bow: The guy at the archery shop mentioned putting a stabilizer on the bow: I of course was thinking about so many other things, I forgot about it: What is the point of a stabilizer and should I put on on??? How big, how long, etc? Brands, types/??? I am excited to get everything set up...any advice on stabilizers? Or any to stay away from? HarvDog
Re: Stablizer The stabilizer adds weight to the front of your bow to help balance it. Some stabilizers are made to help reduce the vibration in your bow as well. The weight or length will depend on your bow itself. If you don't need much weight 4-6oz, consider the Limbsaver S-Coil. Guest Finn
Re: Stablizer I've never used a stabilizer. Bought one and didn't notice much difference so sold it the next day. I'm strictly a hunter and don't shoot tournaments.
dg
Re: Stablizer The weight helps absorb some shock and balance the top heaviness of the sight, quiver, etc. I suggest getting one rubber coated so it wont make noise if you hit the treestand. Guest kunegos
Re: Stablizer I really like the Vibracheck Isolator. It adds weight and soaks up noise and vibration.
jbeck
Re: Stablizer I like the way a stabalizer steadies the bow after the shot. I shoot open hand, I also use a doinker because the rubber absorbs the shock of a single cam bow. If using a double cam bow I would suggest one filled with hydralic fluid to better reduce shock in that type of bow.

Tom2008
Re: Stablizer I think ill go get a Stabalizer for my bow. My bow could always be made a bit quieter.
tedicast
Re: Stablizer I'm gonna have to give another vote for the S-Coil. Great stabalizer, at an excellent price. In my opinion the best stabalizer for the money, hands down.
Chrud
Re: Stablizer A stabilizer will help you hold the bow steadier and it will reduce hand shock and noise. Personally, I've had real good luck with gel-filled stabilizers. I currently use a Vibracheck Isoflex on my Switchback. It does a great job. ruttinbuc
Re: Stablizer All I have been hearing about are the new Fuse stabilizers. Bow shop I visit can't keep them on the shelf. I think it is called the Axium in 6 and 9 inch lengths. A bit expensive, but what isn't?

Guest deadeye270
Re: Stablizer s-coil is a good one fr the money. A Stealth Archery stabilizer is the best IMO though. They will reduce vibration, lower noise levels, and give the bow a better balance.
