Religious question to ponder.

If you don't beilive in God or heaven don't worry about responding. No offence, but I don't want this to be an argument, but a discussion and sharing of opinions.

Why are we here?

What will heaven be like?

Point to ponder. If you look at the lives of Adam and Eve before the fall, what kind of relationship did Adam, Eve and God have, and how did they interact.

If you look at thier perfect lives befor the fall then can you assume that their purpose was to fellowship and have a personal relationship with God himself, to walk and talk with him as you would a friend.

So then would heaven be all of Gods people in a big place fluttering around and worshiping God and singing praises, or will it be more like the garden of eden with us walking and talking with God as a friend?

Anwer. I don't know, but it's something to think about.

What do you think?

Re: Religious question to ponder.

John, those are a lot of points to ponder.

I don’t know what kind of relationship Adam and Eve had with God, just as I don’t know anyone else’s relationship with God other than my own.

I don’t know for sure what Heaven will be like, however just a couple of evenings ago I was resting on the couch in the den watching some hunting show on the tube, with an old western in the picture-in-a-picture feature.

My wife was napping on the other couch with her little dog sleeping in her arm.

I had my little dog sleeping in my arm as well, and my life was calm and content.

I know my wife and children, and their children are happy.

My bills are paid, and I’m not hurting for money.

I am quite satisfied with what I have.

I have friends, and Jesus Christ is one of them.

There are things I am planning to do tomorrow, but nothing is pressing, and tomorrow I may change my mind and do something else.

I may decide to visit with friends tomorrow, or I may just stay home.

I may check on one of my neighbors and see if they need any help.

Maybe that is my purpose here, and maybe my purpose is to type this reply.

I have endured trials, temptations, and tribulations, but I have never been completely alone, and never will be, as long as Christ is the biggest part of my life.

I have read that eternal life in Heaven is expected to be better than life here on earth.

I am still in wonderment as to how that could be possible, but I look forward to it.

I may be checking in here on the forums tomorrow, and then again I may be called Home at any second.

I don’t know what is in store for the future, but I’m prepared for it.

I am thankful that I am.

I think someone has God's lips to his ear. grin.gif Thank you popgun. I agree, completly and after reading that, I know I can't compete!!! laugh.gifsmile.gif

After cruising the forums a little bit I found something I'd like to add:

I think that God's plans are mericful, but I think that God, lets us choose. He gives us options on wether we wanna take his road, or take our own road. I've heard plenty of people say they think God won't approve of different things. That he will punish us with **** if we do these things people think he dosn't approve of. IMO, I think too often we put God in a box, and assume we know what he wants and dosn't want. Instead of asking him, for an answer and to confirm an answer we have, we assume we have him figured out.

I find that humorous considering our Father is more knowledgeable than all of his children put together.

I'd like to believe that he is an understanding and merciful God who does not judge on just your actions, but your intentions and your heart. Do any of you see him that way? confused.gifsmirk.gif

Yep, sure do.

To answer your question John, I cannot possibly know. What I do know is that life after death will be what God wants for us, whatever that might be. I have faith in knowing it will be worth living my life having faith in him.

The difference in Grace and Mercy.

Grace is when God gives us what we don't deserve.

Mercy is when God doesn't give us what we do deserve.

I love it!!! That is so the truth!!! smile.gif

Re: Religious question to ponder.

We are here to take care of each other and serve each other.

Heaven will be totally utopia. No needs or wants, no earthly needs or possessions.

Having been faced with my own mortality, this is all my feable human brain can come up with, but I continue to try and understand life everlasting.
