Shaun_300
Re: Have you ever trespassed while hunting? I've been on private property, but I got permission first! We all know each other up here, and most people are good to let you go on they're land. Always better to make sure though.
total disaster
Re: Have you ever trespassed while hunting? I guess I do but around here where I hunt it is no concern I know almost everyone and everyone here knows me and that I like to hunt so I have no problems I can grab my shotgun in the morning and walk up the road and down acrossed peoples lawns to go hunting and when they see me they always wave or ask me how the seasons been
NY911Bowhunter
Re: Have you ever trespassed while hunting? Yes......... We used to have an old rich lady whose proprty bordered ours. She flew down south for the winter (great excercise at her age!). She never really gave us her actual permission to hunt her land, but my uncle took care of of it while she was gone. We just always hunted it........ Except when she came back up for Thanksgiving. Nice old lady
popgun
Re: Have you ever trespassed while hunting? No. I never have had a problem getting permission to hunt, and I know how to take no for an answer. In my younger days I got turned around on some International Paper Company land I was hunting. Cloudy day with no sun at all. No compass. Moss growing on every side of every tree. I followed a path, then followed some power lines. I came out at the back of a pig farm. I broke my old single shot 410 open and put the shell in my pocket. I walked out to the gravel road and started walking to my truck when the pig farmer pulled up next to me. I found out that I was walking in the opposite direction. I told him where I parked and he gave me a ride all the way to my truck. Laughing all the way.(He was laughing, not me.) He stopped at one spot and pointed across the swamp and said,"Your truck is about a half mile through there." I swallowed hard... He then said he would truck me around to where I was parked. It was almost six miles by the road. I sure was glad to see my truck again. I never hunted there after that. I sure did appreciate that ride. I'll bet that old pig farmer is still grinning. He probably told everyone in Swamp County about the cold, wet, and muddy dumb kid he found walking out of his pig farm. ....popgun
Nut
Re: Have you ever trespassed while hunting? popgun....that is a nice story and thanks for sharing it. I did cross property lines searching for a deer I had shot in Kentucky. I left my rifle on the property I had permission. It made me feel ill the entire time we looked on the fringes of the other property. I was with the landowner I had permission during the entire ordeal. Never found the deer which compounded the situation.

stevebeilgard
Re: Have you ever trespassed while hunting? i think most hunters have been on land where they didn't have permission to hunt. usually by mistake. those who do it intentionally are the crumbs. ruttinbuc
Re: Have you ever trespassed while hunting? I crossed a fence a few times to shortcut access to property. A couple times to recover deer after trying to locate the landowner. Once while hunting state land in PA I ended up on unmarked PP. Got hollered at for that. RJJ
Re: Have you ever trespassed while hunting? yes. i had to go and get my deer. the land owner saw me cross the fence and came and asked me what i was doing.i told him that my deer had jumped the fence. he didn't like that very much and he told that he was going to call the man that owned the land i came from and tell him that i came across his land also. i told him to go ahead that it was my uncle's land. he had a differnt out look on things after that.
