AJ
That depends, what barrel do you have on your Gold now? It will work fine for clays. Do you want to shoot recreational, leagues, or registered? The SuperX2 is a good gun, as is the Benelli Sport. The Remington 1100 has won more clay target championships than any other shotgun. The 11-87 Sporting Clays would also be a good choice. Another option is an o/u. It gives you a benefit on the clays range where you can set up multiple chokes for each station. On my local cporting range, we have a rabbit that is shot about 25 yards along with an outgoing target and the shot is about 45 yards. With a semiauto, you can only use a compromise but with a double barrel, you can set your chokes for each shot.
Guest cowpoke
Re: winchester super X2???? I recently picked up a super X2 in the field version 3 inch chamber, walnut stock. It will be fine for sporting clays and skeet. One thing to keep in mind is that at this time nobody makes a snap on shell catcher if you were to shoot trap with it and don't want to pelt the gu to your right with empties. Another thing to keep in mind about the super x2 is that is is basically a blue collar version of a browning gold with a few cosmetic differences. Also there is a $100 rebate from Winchester on new super x2's this fall, if you look at their website you can see when the ending date is.
