Smitteken Posted September 1, 2005 Report Share Posted September 1, 2005 Well all day I've been frantically trying to find an old hunting license or my Hunters Ed number so I can get a new hunting license. I used to have about 10 old ones but I moved out a month ago and lost a bunch of stuff. Anywho, Illinois DNR website has a search for your Hunters ED number. But I took it 2 years before the the time frame they were available for. So I've been emailing and calling the DNR all day trying to find my #. Then I had an epiphany. I remembered that after I took the class, my dad put the card (with the # on it) in a grey lock box. Keep in mind this was when I was 9 yrs old; I''m 23 now. So I called my stepmom and went through the whole dilemma. She said "your dad does have a grey lock box, let me look for it." So 20 minutes later she calls and said she found it. So I got the number and went on IL DNR website and filled out the application. Printed the license with the Habitat stamp, and HIP number already included. How easy is that?! So I printed four of them that way I can have them in all my coats and one in my truck. This is genius. I'm pumped. Now I can hunt tonight.
