Guest bexar_county89
Just more proof that everything is BIGGER in Texas (especially in the Panhandle). The story goes that this snake was found south of Fritch, Texas at an old gas plant and that he was close to nine feet in length. By looking at the photo and by using my knowledge of the area, I would say that this location is the old Turkey Creek Plant which is located just south of the Alibates Turnoff on Highway 136 south of Fritch. This is just a reminder that these creatures are actually out there and no matter what you believe, sometimes they should get not only prescriptive rights to be there but the full right of way! spyderpancake
Re: Everythings bigger in texas (pics) That is so funny-my dad got a picture of that snake a couple days ago and took it to the steel mill where he works, where one of his friends made up a flier that said that a local bulldozer operator pushed up a den of rattlesnakes with over 100 in it, and that was one of the medium-sized ones. The story has spread over the whole town, and everyone is talking about the huge den of snakes in Dovesville(the little town where it supposedly happened). I am telling you, they have everybody fooled! It is so funny to hear someone ask if i have heard about the rattlesnakes!

wtnhunt
Re: Everythings bigger in texas (pics) That is a big rattlesnake. Think I have seen this pic before, or one just like it where the snake was held up like that. Easterns get pretty big, I know we saw some in Florida that were close to if not over 8 feet long. elkhntnfool
Re: Everythings bigger in texas (pics) That is a big snake. I think the biggest rattler I've seen here in Montana was no more than six feet long. But six feet is big enough to make you back away.
