VTbowman
Is 240 grain 50 cal. sabot to light for 150 grains of Pyrodex pellets? Should I be using a 300 grain projectile? I have both so I can see which shoots best, just wondering if that charge is over kill for the smaller projectile. Thanks.
AJ
Re: 240 grain sabot+150 grain pellets? no, I use 150 gr with 235 gr Precision Rifle QT40 NO, you should be using the bullet that shoots best I see no need to shoot 300 gr bullets at deer. Try them both and see what works best.
hoyt19
Re: 240 grain sabot+150 grain pellets? I shot a Hornady 250gr XTP mag with 150 grains of 777 and I thing it is a great load. Ballistically speaking, Im around 2200fps at the muzzle and about 2300lbs at the muzzle with 2 inch groups and 100 yards.
