Re: BIGFOOT

Hey jdickey.

I ran into John Bindernagel at the coffee shop yesterday, and he told me he's coming out with a new book. He was really excited and said he is going to address (as he outstretched his arms) the big glass wall between man and the Sasquatch. Thought you might like to know, since you know him too. grin.gif

He's a good researcher and author. That oughta be a good book.

Hope he can attend the exhibit that's underway at the University of Texas - San Antonio, Institute of Texas Cultures. The exhibit opened last week and has really been drawing the crowds, already! It runs through July, 2006.

Here's the link and schedule of events and speakers for next month...

Hey, what can I say. John is an old aquantance of mine. grin.gif John is a cool guy to talk to. He's a biologist and a very strong Christian. If you sat down and talked to him about BigFoot for 30 minutes, you might just walk away, wondering. grin.gif

Re: BIGFOOT

Hey jdickey, I have been reading the entries at the Texas Bigfoot website and I am, to say the least, flabergasted. The entries are written so that you feel like you are right there with the researchers. I am wondering a few things about your research. It seems like the sasquatch is a very curious animal, as are most semi-intelligent animals. Have you tried to use a decoy in conjunction with the calling to lure the critter into the open? I would assume that the creature is somewhat territorial and would react to a decoy much the way a dominant buck would. You could possibly mount a trail camera inside the decoy, say in the chest area to possibly capture the sasquatch approaching the decoy. Even another step in conjunction with the trail camera would be to mount a speaker inside the decoy as well to project the sound stimulation with the visual. I would suggest that the decoy be made to resemble an adolescent creature so that if an insubordinant was to respond it would not be so fearful as it would with an adult. The reason I would suggest a decoy is that it appeared that your researchers had alot of close encounters but no sightings, even though the creature was close enough to hear it breathing. As far as the realism of a decoy, with todays technology, a realistic decoy shouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. I had also read that the creature visited the camp when the researchers were out on patrol. Why not leave the decoy in camp to possibly get a photo of it there? I would also like to add that in this forum alot of fellas said they would shoot a sasquatch if the had the opportunity. Think about this guys, are you willing to take the chance of shooting a possible prankster is a costume? Because no matter what, a man in a costume is still a man, and if you knowingly shoot him, it is premeditated murder, joke or no joke. One more thing jdickey. Is it possible for a civilian to accompany a research team on a sasquatch expidition? I would enjoy seeing a few pics if you wouldn't mind. My e-mail is [email protected] Thanks

Re: BIGFOOT

The decoy is a good suggestion and one that we have considered. Several problems exist though, one of which is finances to make such a realistic decoy!

Not knowing what the reaction to a decoy would be, ole Biggie could destroy it and everything in it. Although there doesn't seem to be any confirmed reports of violence towards humans, they do exhibit an intimidation behaviour such as throwing rocks and branches, and growls.

However, one hunter reported that a Sasquatch stalked a feral hog, captured it, and slammed it against a tree several times, killing the hog. The creature turned and looked directly at the hunter, growled and disappeared into the thick woods!

Blood evidence and footprints were found!

I sent you a few pics, from an area along the Trinity River of a nesting area.... quite intriguing!

Re: BIGFOOT

Yeah... that's one of the better shows - Kiamichi Wilderness in Oklahoma. Travel Channel does a very good job in presenting the eveidence and eyewitness reports. They do so in a much more objective manner.

They did a show with our group, Texas Bigfoot Research Center, last fall. It has been on TLC's Weird Travels several times now.

Unfortunately, one of the least objective programs is one that is presented by National Geographic Channel; it is called BIGFOOT. It is very disappointing, when you consider that it was not research very thoroughly - not up to National Geographic's usual high standards.

Discovery Channel has presented several very good show also, and they included the Kiamichi Wilderness in some of their presentations too.

I sure wish their was a forum just for bigfoot. It's bad enough that elk have to share a forum with feral hogs, but Bigfoot? come on...

Re: BIGFOOT

No... not at all! Although there has been a video supposedly of a female with a baby, and we have evidence of footprints and sightings of possible juveniles. I do not know if there is anything that has determined the life expectancy, other than that what has been gathered for gorillas. Dr. Jane Goodall is most noted for her studies of the life span of the gorilla.

To my knowledge, a complete skeleton of a sasquatch has not been studied; but there may be someone in the scientific community who has, but has not released any information as yet. Not everything gets released to the public (that sounds familiar doesn't it?).

I definitely do. Heard too many non-cougar non-elk noises while camping in unit 71. Once ol BF made so much noise it kept me awake for hours after an extended day of elk hunting, so I went outside the camper and shot 10 .45 autos into the bank to shut ol BF up. I like to visit the BFRO site too some times and read the reports. But then again I seen UFO's myself back in '85 north of Milledegville GA. That's another story.

And here's some sas'y news from MT:

new animals are being found often,I heard of a new snake found yesterday in south america that was never known to exist, there is so much country untouched out there I do believe there is such an animal,I do not believe in all the crap about bigfoot being alian or part human, I do believe he is a very smart animal who does not want to be found, look at how smart a mature deer is in the woods, you know how hard it is to find a 6 year old deer in your woods you know like the back of your hands, increase his mantality many times and throw him in a million acres of untouched wilderness, he will never be seen!there are so many people out there who want to make fake tapes and imprints that are making so many sceptics,I have no idea why people cannot believe there is a animal out there not yet found, I guess maybe its becouse they have never been in untouched areas, the natives 500 years ago ahve drawings of these creatures, I wonder if one of them made a suit up and walked around trying to hoax everyone lol!! I have always believed in them but what really got me was a crew my brother worked with, they were way up in northern Alberta when one was in there camp when they drove in, as it walked by the semi it looked right in the window at them from 10 ft, as I talked to these guys and seen how scared they were prob 5 years after I know they were not lieing!!

I was hunting a couple years ago out in Michigan. I was walking to my stand around 5:30 in the morning, it was pitched black. But as I was walking I heard something ferousicous, like it devoured a small animal. I stopped and shined the light where I heard it. Nothing moved. I stood there for what had to be about 2 or 3 minutes, a little on edge and not sure what I heard. So then I resumed to my spot but kept looking back to see if anything was following me or so lol.

Was it bigfoot? Who knows. It could've been a fox or something. But it woke me up that morning lol.
