Re: Do you always stand ?

I would say practice sitting then you should be comfortable shooting seated. Otherwise, I would stand to shoot if that was what I was used to doing. Greg

Re: Do you always stand ?

I've shot 2 out of 3 this year sitting down. The summit cobra with the open face has helped out on this. The only reason I would need to stand is if the deer were moving to my right which would require me to rotate (i'm right handed). But i try to position my stand so I'll be shooting to my left towards the way I expect the deer to come. But that doesn't always work, does it? grin.gifsmirk.gif

Re: Do you always stand ?

I prefer standing to shoot. Let's face it 90 % of my practice is done standing. It also allows me some ability to turn if the deer doesn't come to the exact spot that I hoped. However, I have spent some time shooting while sitting just in case I get caught and don't have the opportunity to get into the more ideal position of standing. I feel pretty confident with sitting shots unless, as somebody has already pointed out, the deer's location forces some ugly contortions.

Re: Do you always stand ?

I practice both ways but have never shot a deer sitting.

I am in the habit of standing the first 2 hours of a morning hunt and last 2 hours of the evening hunt. Basically up and ready for both prime times.

Standing long periods of time does not bother me.

Must be one of those Military things that I am actually able to use... LOL
