NiteRunner
I just got a QuickTune 800 (prong style) for my bow it and came with the slip on silencers but after 100 shots it's wore off. Is there something else that I can put on to keep it silent?
too_pointer
Re: Keeping it Quite Iv'e done the tubing and also the adhesive camo pads, neither one lasted long enough for me. Next time a shootthrough like a whicker bisquit for me !! too_
BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: Keeping it Quite Yup can buy heat shrink tubing works very well and you can just replace it when it whers out comes and many sizes and thickness and its very quiet to. Chrud
Re: Keeping it Quite The absolute best rest silencers on the market. I actually put these on my Mathews Micro Arrow Rest rather than the teflon silencers. These are quieter. They fit all prong-style rests, like a NAP Quicktune. too_pointer
Re: Keeping it Quite Chrud, those look interesting Do they have an adhesive inside of them to keep them on ? They appear real quiete !! too_
Guest buckseeker
Re: Keeping it Quite I have used a similar rest and had the same problem, the local pro shop sold me some type of teflon coated tubeing that has lasted for a couple of indoor leagues and a hunting season before being replaced
Chrud
Re: Keeping it Quite [ QUOTE ] Chrud, those look interesting Do they have an adhesive inside of them to keep them on ? They appear real quiete !! too_ [/ QUOTE ] There is a orange material inside. It is almost like rubber. They require some force to put them on and require a lot of force to take them back off. I cut the prongs on my Mathews Micro Arrow Rest down a bit because they are pretty long right from the factory. The teflon "fork tamers" that come standard are nice, but a carbon (and I'd assume an aluminum) arrow makes a small scraping sound against them. With these fuzzy covers, it is as quiet as a church mouse. I had to cut them down a bit so they'd fit the new "custom" rest also. In fact, I just ordered a couple more sets so I can replace them when needed, but after a couple hundred shots, there is no wear.

Guest Finn
Re: Keeping it Quite I just wrap moleskin where the contact is and it's quiet.

Chrud
Re: Keeping it Quite You can get moleskin at Walgreens or Wal-Mart. It'll be in the footcare department. That works well on rests too.
