I asked this question somewhere else, and nearly go my head handed to me on a silver platter:

Do you believe that when you pray, without sincerity that those prayers mean anything? Let me explain: Like when you pray merely b/c its expected of you, or because you feel the need, but your heart and soul isn't in it, do you believe God answers them? confused.gif Please don't be angry with me, I've had enough anger over this question over the last hour, than I've had in the last month smirk.gif

Re: Question

I don't see why anyone would get angry at you for asking a question.

I look at it this way. God created me for a purpose, and that purpose was to have a relationship with me and me with him. Sometimes my relationship isn't so good because I always had a hard time having a good relationship with my earthly father Dad). I do think he wants us to be sincere when we talk to him, but remember that that's what prayer is really. You are talking with your Father in heaven. There's no magic words you need to say for him to hear you, just sincerety, even if it's just to say thanks for the wonderful day, or thank you for this nice doe I just shot. There are times I pray while kneeling, walking driving or whatever. Sometimes with my eyes open (driving..LOL) and sometimes shut.

I think God hears them ..yes

When I really need his attention, I get down on my knees, mostly to show him my respect and also to express my humility in the situation.

The only thing that can block prayer is sin, that hasn't been dealt with between you and him yet.

Re: Question

Thanx guys, I guess I should elaborate:

I asked these guys that question and they rudely told me the answer, as though they didn't have time for me. I wanted to know who thought like I did, that when we stop being insincere, we stop praying, I mean we still think we're talking to God, but he's not listening!! Thanx again all of ya'll

Re: Question

I have to differ with you Bexar.

I believe that God answers prayer that is sincere but also answers that which is not. He may answer the insincere more often with a no, but he still answers it. I have very close friends that have prayed insincere prayers prior to becoming Christians that were prayed in jest. However, those prayers were answered in a way only God could answer and that led them to seek him sincerly.

In my opinion God sees and hears and truely listens to everything we say (not just pray) and he then responds in his infinite wisdom in the manner that will bring us to seek him the most.

Re: Question

I could see God granting a prayer to a non believer, before he graces us with a prayer that we didn't mean. We know better your friends don't.........not really. I just don't know.
