huntn4bucks
Why does it always have to be about race with some people. Rapper Kanya West plays the race card on live TV at a concert fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Katrina. He goes on to say, "George Bush doesn't care about black people!". Here's a link to the full story: Kanye West's Torrent of Criticism, Live on NBC I would start ranting myself but I'll not...I'll let you formulate your own opinion of Mr. West. There is no problem with your post or the other one in here I just feel that it would be best suited in the polital room and am in the process of getting them moved. Once it's over in the politcal room, I am sure you will have yourself a good conversation over there
Alisha
Re: Playing the race card (Hurricane Katrina) As soon as Kanye finished running his ignorant mouth off I reached for the remote and hit the power button. I was absolutely sickened by his comments. When people start making a race issue out of everything I have NO desire to watch or listen from then on out. hutchies
Re: Playing the race card (Hurricane Katrina) Good artist. Idiot as a public figure. This guy has no idea what he is talking about. My only question to him is how long has slavery been abolished? And when are the white people gonna get to quit hearing about this crap? This is just the sad case of this country. Someone was bound to make this about the oppression of african americans. Someone else will say it is about america's lack of care or concern for the underpriveledged. I don't understand how it is OK for the "oppressed and underpriveledged" to cry and call foul, but it isn't OK for those of us who question their motives and integrity to challenge them on their positions or actions. This isn't about politics! This is about 1 ignorant man (who happens to be black). And it so happens that someone in RT has called him on his position. Someone felt that race was going to be an issue (OMG: who would have thought that card would be played). No one in hear has said that all of the comments about gas prices and gas gouging should be moved to the political room.... why not???? Is that not too a political topic. I think the topic stays! And I think it's horse pucky that our country has become so weakened by this internal bickering about race! It is not our color that defines us, it is our character and moral fortitude.... so, Mr. West... maybe you might think of developing some! hutchies
Re: Playing the race card (Hurricane Katrina) Mr. Goat, I think you just did a wonderful job of summing this whole thing up. It is rediculous and I hate to see anyone go to the race card but it always happens.

need2hunt
Re: Playing the race card (Hurricane Katrina) Shoot the race card was also played on INXS Rockstar last week. One of the participants Ty (who was the only black artist on the show) was voted off. He thanked INXS for the priviledge of being on the show and then said that it hurt him that the real reason america voted him in the bottom 3 three different times wasn't because of his lack of ability but because of "his people". The guy has a load of talent but so do the other people on that show, and I didn't see where his skin color had anything to do with it. xtremehunter45
Re: Playing the race card (Hurricane Katrina) I love that show!! Most of the singers are too good for a crappy band like inxs!! Thay need to go out on there own!! MARTY ROCKS!
hutchies
Re: Playing the race card (Hurricane Katrina) Yeah all of those singers are really good. I like Marty and that blonde headed chick. I would really like to see that chick take it. She has one heck of a voice. I missed when Ty got eliminated but I can't believe he played the race card. If it was really a race thing don't you think he would have been cut first elimination. Personally all the songs he sang lately on there sucked. He has no excuses. Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Playing the race card (Hurricane Katrina) Isn't he the same guy that blew up and cried racism last year at the Grammy's when he lost out "Newcomer of the Year" or whatever they call it, to Gretchen Wilson? hutchies
Re: Playing the race card (Hurricane Katrina) Ding, Ding, Ding!!!! We have a winner. Yep, Same idiot as last year. He also said that he was calling his accountant or whoever to see how much he could possibly donate to Louisiana. Far as I am concerned if you have to call someone to ask how much you can donate you are just a poser.
