I cannot believe some people. Wait...yes I can. Nothing really surprises me anymore.

Did you know it is not "politcally correct" to call the people who once lived in New Orleans because of the floods/hurricanes REFUGEES??? Heck...it's not even okay to call them evcacuees or victims or displaced residents.

Who is spurring this on??? Who else?? Mr. Jesse Jackson himself.

Give me a break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Calling them refugees is offensive??????? Excuse me while I go throw up.

I wont tell ya what I call them. LOL

I hope your joking because it isin't funny. The people of N.O. had no control over the storm. They might have missed the boat to get out before it hit, but still, it isin't their fault. So to call them something ignorant is well...pretty ignorant if that is in deed what you were trying to do.

Now with that said, I am not talking about the looters and other thugs down there. They need to go away or be shot or something. I agree with everyone else in here about the situation down there. The Mayor needs canned but that won't happen because then our beloved Jesse Jackson will really get involved then. I think the looters stealing anything else other than food need shot. I think that rapper that made the comment about Bush needs his butt wooped and then deported...I'll stop there grin.gif

I just don't think it is funny making a comment like you did about them folks down there. Alot of them people had no choice being in the enviroment they were/are in.

Re: What next?????

huntin' girl, I totally agree with you. Though in some small way, I understand disliking the term refugees (considering the connotation and the environments many refugees come from--war-torn countries with oppressive governments), I find it pathetic that a small number of people are whining about the term.

I find it even more irritating that the media is wasting time reporting on that--when there is actually much more newsworthy stuff out there.

How about reporting on how Milwaukee's Johnson Controls, donated a million bucks to the relief effort. Oh...NEVERMIND! We can NOT focus on good things that corporate America does.
