VermontHunter
Re: Photobucket at it again... Try to picture the biggest smelliest garbage sewer rat imaginable and that's what Im refferring to.... RT doesn't host animated gifs...... ,,,,once cable is up and running here in my area I will have my own little closet server......... Shame on photobucket trying to pry into my empty wallet.... .....I could see it if I had a large amount of photo's but 15-20 small ones....come on lets get real..... BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: Photobucket at it again... [ QUOTE ] doesn't realtree have what you need???? I got over 70 pics at photobucket....that's weird.... when you say rat, do you mean roof rat(Rattus rattus) or the Norway rat(Rattus Norvengicus)?? just wanted some clarification on what to picture...roof rats have longer tails. thanks, JB [/ QUOTE ] In my opinion RT does the exact thing photobucket is doing more ppl on here get there pic moved by realtree then photobucket I bet... No way I will pay for Photobuckets space somethings are way better off payed for I hate when ppl offer a service and then change it from what it was ... and before you say anything... If you can put a picture in a wrong place then the system isnt working is it... isnt that why RT moves the pics around...
Shutter
Re: Photobucket at it again... I dont know if I'm allowed to plug this or not.. I've seen others do it so I guess it is okay, but www.jesseshunting.com has unlimited storage for photos and video, no advertisements or watermarks on your photos either. It's been available for a couple years now, I've never had or seen any problems.

Guest Bob_D
Re: Photobucket at it again... Luke, You can get all the space (50 MG Space/ 2GB Bandwidth) you need for $3.95 a month. Or $3.32 a month if you pay a year at a time. Let me know if you want details. Does your new ISP offer webspace that allows remote file posting? need2hunt
Re: Photobucket at it again... VH, First off that really stinks. But I got thinking about it, I don't know how many animated sigs you had in your account over there that people were linking to but put this into consideration. One of your animated sigs was approx 200K, so every 5 sigs is approx 1 meg of bandwidth. So if one thread has 5 sigs and is viewed 100 times (I think this thread has 130 views so far) then you've transmitted 100 megs of bandwidth just off that one thread, ten more threads like that and you've transmitted 1 gig of bandwidth. I don't know how many of your sigs people just linked to from your account but if you consider the the amount of views just from this site in one month... boy, I'ld be interested at how high you went on the bandwidth table. Don't get me wrong, I love the sigs you did for everyone. I'm just a little bored and the math was kinda fun.
VermontHunter
Re: Photobucket at it again... Hhmmmm..intersesting theroy.. I'm not sure how their linking procedure works,,,but I'm most definate if I had reached 1 gig. of bandwith in one thread those animations would have most definately been gone along time ago.... I'd also be interested in just how much bandwidth I assumingly used..... Just to put it out there,,I think I had 5 total that I was hosting....I guess I really can't blame them if I didn't read the very fine print at the bottom..... need2hunt
Re: Photobucket at it again... I did some checking - curious and bored - this is what I found... [ QUOTE ] Currently, Free accounts get 25MB of space and 1500MB of bandwidth per month. Premium accounts have bandwidth restrictions lifted and have up to 1GB of disk space. [/ QUOTE ] So for them to say you were exceeding or abusing bandwidth you'ld have to be over the 1.5 gig mark for the month
VermontHunter
Re: Photobucket at it again... [ QUOTE ] you'ld have to be over the 1.5 gig mark for the month [/ QUOTE ] OH NO....could this have ben possible ??? Maybe !!,,,but still find it highly unlikely with just a few small animated avatars,,,but I could be wrong... But I still have one inqurey tho..... ,,,, when they went into my account the first time they didn't dump any animations which would have been the culprits of the bandwidth use,,,,instead the deleted a few harmless static pictures,,,,like the license plates everyone here like to use...... Or was it the direct linking,,,they didn't like even tho they said this was ok to do..... Just figured while you were bored I'd keep ya investigating.....and besides I hate math.... LifeNRA
Re: Photobucket at it again... [ QUOTE ] NOW THEY SAY I HAVE EXCEEDED THEIR BANDWITH LIMIT...... [/ QUOTE ] Luke, you cant host eveybody's sig here, if too many people use them here and elsewhere you will exceed the bandwith limit! I know I did! I posted some pics of a football game I was at last year and made the mistake of using Photobucket. People need to create their own account. This is why I would not keep them on Photobucket for no longer than a few days.
