HarvDog
I did some shooting at lunch today and seem to be doing very well at 20, 30, and now even 40 yards. Anway, when I was packing up to head back to the office, I noticed the thin thread-type string around my bow string coming unravelled (see pix below). How can I fix this or should I just take it to someone?
The_Kat
Re: I\'m coming unwound!!! wax it. or simply get some serving and redo it. It may be time for a new bow string.
VtBowhunter
Re: I\'m coming unwound!!! Just take it to a proshop and have the serving fixed.......you'll be good as new and no need to readjust after.

[/ QUOTE ] Brand new bow...however, I do believe it was last year's model. I think I'll take it back there and have them fix it up.
AaronS
Re: I\'m coming unwound!!! Fixing the serving there is a 5 minute job. If you lived closer I'd do it for you myself.
Washi
Re: I\'m coming unwound!!! After you have them reserve it have them make sure everything is adjusted properly. My bow had serving wear in the same spot and it was because my cam was overrotating and the serving was touching the cam axle.
Rut-Nut
Re: I\'m coming unwound!!! I had the same thing, but a little closer to the cam. I took it back to the proshop and in 10 min was fixed. Good thing too- turned out it was a loose allen screw in the cam that was causing the wear! BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: I\'m coming unwound!!! Ummm excuse me I just had this exact thing on my bow and it is called Cam rollover you draw length isnt set right and the cam is rolling over on the cable causing the rubbing on your serving the serving is easy to fix yes but within 6 shots I guarntee it will be wearing again unless you get the draw length fixed mine they had to change the cam module was real easy took 2 screws and it was done. I bet if you pull that bow back look at where the serving is wearing its right at the cam stops turning.
Guest tyshe17
Re: I\'m coming unwound!!! that is your buss cable, as long as it is just the serving it wont be a problem to fix, but if it is wearing badly it could have cut some strings. I would check and make sure you dont need a new buss cable. They take about 3 minutes to put on once you get one in if it is cut. Just a safety issue
HarvDog
Re: I\'m coming unwound!!! I guess it's a good thing I check with ya'll about this, huh? I'll take a closer look at everything then have the dude at the shop look as well.
dg
Re: I\'m coming unwound!!! Harvdog, If the cam is not nicked, just reserve over the serving. I've had brand new Mathews and Bowtechs split the serving where it makes a severe bend near the end of the draw cycle. If you know how to serve, go about an inch above and below. Worked for me and lasted along time.
Tominator
Re: I\'m coming unwound!!! Isn't that a brand new bow? I'd take it back and have them re-serve it. That shouldn't happen so soon.

HarvDog
Re: I\'m coming unwound!!! Fixed!!! This was actually on the cable and not the bow string. The dude checked everything out and replaced the cable. Gonna go shooting later this afternoon. Thanks for the help.

HuntnMa
Re: I\'m coming unwound!!! i brought my bow to get tuned and realized the release was stuck in my cam, dont ask me how it got there , but, the guy at BASS said he wouldnt fix it, so i bought some serving string and did it myself... this ANGEL i met in the store , a customer showed me how to do the serving myself...it's real easy, now that i did it, freaked me out when i saw him doing it, the knots and all, but i did and we'll be out there opening morning good luck.
