Guest deadeye270
Re: 125gr for deer I think you stand a better chance of getting a pass through with a 125 grain head than than you do w/ 100gr. Just my opinion.
JimT
Re: 125gr for deer I think either will be fine...60 pounds is plenty to get a passthru with 100gr heads..Just ask anyone who shoots that poundage. Stay away from the shoulder like you should anwas..and your set. You will get more penetration with 125 grains, but I would just stay with the 100s. Guest bowhunterforlife
Re: 125gr for deer i shot 125's for 9 yrs and switched to 100's for speed.the 125's will pass thru easily if hit in the vitals.as long as its a fixed blade, mechanicals still go thru, but lay flat on the ground after coming out, nothing left on them
Guest buddy ahart
Re: 125gr for deer what about the rocket aeroheads buck blaster thats a fixed blade and expandable would this be better or worse then regular fixed blade? Mach1
Re: 125gr for deer I shoot 125gr Spitfires on a 60lb draw. No problems at all.I still use aluminum arrows too. I can't afford a bow upgrade yet and won't switch to carbons until I do. Hopefully in the next year or so I can move up.
Leo
Re: 125gr for deer Either are fine for deer at that poundage. Heavier shafts fly better with heavier heads. It depends on how long and heavy your arrow shafts are. Go out to Goldtips website and check your FOC
mathews4life
Re: 125gr for deer i shot 60 lbs w/ 100 grain broadheads for 3 yrs and killed 4 deer. complete pass through everytime. i'll think u'll be fine w/ either of them also
Chrud
Re: 125gr for deer At 60 pounds with a 100 grain head, you'll blow right through them with no problem.
rossman
Re: 125gr for deer I would stick with 100 grains. This is the typical head weight for deer. Why not use what everyone else is using?
Guest Finn
Re: 125gr for deer Why switch? If you're happy with these, stick with em if you switch, 125's will do fine.

Tony
Re: 125gr for deer both will do the job. what little weight you give up for shooting the 100s wont amount ot much for speed.. maybe 8 fps ? thats not a whole lot.. actually im going with heavier heads this year.. im shooting 125s for my recurve and 100 for my compound... Shoot Strong Tony
