Re: cover scent\'s

Im assuming your asking about cover scents but you have mentioned scents- as in attractants.

The last few years I have used the fresh earth wafers and stored them in with the clothes in my scent tight bag. I also used the H.S. Scent-Away spray w/ fresh earth cover up. That seemed to work pretty well but you still make sure you shower before each hunt and try not to work up a sweat heading to stand.

This year with an addition Scentblocker suit and underlayers there is no need for cover up scents. It is not recommened to use any cover up scents with activated carbon suits. If you stored any wafers in with your scent tight bag the carbon will asorb all the earth cover up and the pores will quickly become "full" Once they are full, there will be no room for human oder absorbtion out in the field. Going "Scent-less" is the best idea in my situation IMO.

Re: cover scent\'s

The best advice I know to give is use whats in the area. If its cedar use cedar and so forth. I wouldnt recommend coon or fox or any other scent like this. A deer will Know something is in the area or was in the area and it will be looking. I hunt in Indiana and we dont have alot of evergreens. I only use scentaway during the season until I see bucks chasing then I use a rut scent. Just my opinion, wish you the best of luck this year!!!

Re: cover scent\'s

I just try to stay scent free as much as possible and only use scent on a decoy or trail with a drag but I never leave scent within 20 yds of my stand. Don't want the deer any closer than that. I also leave some type of scent during the rut in a sparadic circle around my stand or blind so the scent is mixed well with my own if the wind happens to shift on me.
