iabow
Have any of you used a rifled choke in your smoothbore shotgun? How did it perform? Seen them in Cabelas tonight, wondered if they would be worth trying compared to rifled slugs. Thanks
bulldawg
Re: Rifled Chokes ? I shoot an 1100, and bought a barrel with a rifled choke after I bought the gun. I tried at least 5 different brands of foster slugs, and couldn't pattern the dang thing at all! I put an improved cylinder choke in it's place, and haven't looked at the danged thing since! Some people swear by them...I swear at them..
tedicast
Re: Rifled Chokes ? I have a Remington 870, with a cantilever barrel, and a rifled choke. I shoot Winchester Super X fosters out of it with decent accuracy. The groups aren't as tight as my fully rifled Encore barrel, but definatey a big improvement over my smooth bore slug gun. wtnhunt
Re: Rifled Chokes ? Have a rifled choke tube for my winchester 1300, but have never used it yet for deer, and have not yet shot any slugs through it. Might just use it this year though.
