tedicast
I have a 209x50 Encore. I also bought a 12 gauge fully rifled slug barrel for it. Yes, you can get a non ml'ing turkey barrel for it too. You will need to be a 12 gauge forend like T7 said above. As for changing the barrels, it is just a mateer of taking the 2 forend screws out, and pushing the hinge pin out. It is very simple. As for the price difference between the Omege and the Encore...That is personal preference. When I bought my Encore, I was leaning toward the Omega. I handles the Encore first, and then the Omega. As soon as I handled the Omega, I knew I wanted the Encore. To me, it is a better feeling gun. All personal preference. Oh yeah...I almost forgot. Welcome to the RT.com forums!! browtine2
Re: newbie encore questions. . . I have the Encore with 50cal., 270 and 223 barrels and wouldn't trade it for anything. Hoping to someday purchase that 12ga. or 20ga. barrel. Above all buy what feels good in your hands, not what feels good in someone elses. good luck
