Re: Anyone have a CVA WOLF?

TheNumber1Young1 have you had any luck with your muzzloader yet? You kinda have me worried now I just bout the camo version of the wolf it should arrive next Tuesday. I'll be going and shooting mine next weekend and will post back with results as well.

Ive always used 2X50 grain Pyrodex Grain Pellets with my inline Knight I have now. Shoots great! Curious with the newer muzzloaders if I should jump to 150. humm

Re: Anyone have a CVA WOLF?

Im not sure what load you should be using. A buddy of mine is shooting the cheap Walmart sabots and pyrodex and hes getting pretty good groups out to 100yds. Easily good enough to take a kill shot. 3,4, and 5 shots in a saucer sized group. Not to shabby!

I now know of 3-different people who bought the wolf and all are pretty happy with it due to the price.

Re: Anyone have a CVA WOLF?

Dont get my wrong its a great gun, i love it, i just keep picking the wrong sabots/bullets to use and i was wondering what someone else who has the wolf uses....Because ive spent over 50$ on bullets, and sabots, ive tried 295 grain Powerbelt hollow point, those didnt work, and i tried some cheap walmart thing.so i just dont know what to do, i hope i find out what load to use by the time hunting season gets here.

Re: Anyone have a CVA WOLF?

Im in now too guys. I bought a CVA Optima for $100. I had a guy at work offer me $175 (it had an old Taso pronghorn scope) for it so I took it. I still have a traditions inline but its harder to clean. My brother and a buddy of mine both bought the CVA Wolf. They both love theirs (even though they are considered low end).

Honestly they shoot as good as the optima. I ran to Walmart today at lunch and bought a CVA wolf. I also bought the dove tails and rings. I am going to mount a 3x9x32 Bushnell on it this evening. Its the scope I have on my Remington 700, 30-06. Its been a decent rifle scope so it should be a nice ML scope.

I've now got to get a new scope for my rifle but such is life. I already have my eye on a few.... tongue.gifwink.gif

Re: Anyone have a CVA WOLF?

Grin...I bought a new scope for my browning 30-06 and took the 3X9X40 scope and placed it on my Camo Wolf. It looks sweet! smile.gif Now just hoping it shoots stright! I have a inline Knight 50 Cal and use 2X50 grain Pyrodex Grain pellets and shoots very accurate. However I bought this one because I like to collect guns and wants a camo muzzeloader. Using these new Primers 209 seem like they should be much better the the caps from my knight. Again Ill give and update on mine next Monday.

Re: Anyone have a CVA WOLF?

Well I went and shot mine this week. Took me awhile to site it in. I used 2X50 grain Pyrodex pellets and the hollow point Powerbelt bullets.

After I got it sited in and hit the bulleye twice in a row after 6-8 shots I had a heck of a time trying to get the powerbelt bullet all the way down the barrel!

Even after running a patch through the barrel. I think it needing some cleaning solution because after that I couldnt get it to shoot accuarate again and the bullet to load all the way down the barrel.

Anyone using the wolf cva did u unscrew the ram rod at anytime? It looks like you can unscrew the ram rod and make it longer to?
