Guest Andrea
Ummmm, we had one a long time ago before my mother got tired of looking at it and threw it away. We never really did anything to preserve it. It just hung there in the den forever. Dusted it off once in a while. So, I'm not sure what you can do or if you really need to do anything at all. Got pics??
ParrotHead2005
Re: Hornet nests I cut down everyone I find. I spray mine with clear spray paint. YOu can get it at Wally world for around 99 cents. I have a couple hanging in my classroom.

ParrotHead2005
Re: Hornet nests I have sold two larger ones for 75 each. People around here eat them up. They use them in their house as decorations. I

deershed
Re: Hornet nests I found a bunch last year.I cut down 2 of the bigger ones and managed to save one.The first one I missed when it fell. There was no climbing either tree so I had to use one of those pole saws. When the second one fell I caught it and as I layed it down a hornet started coming out the hole.I plugged the hole with a tissue and everything was fine. You shouldn't have to do anything to them other then to make sure there's no survivors still inside.

ParrotHead2005
Re: Hornet nests Actually I have seen them for 125 over in Brown County Indiana. In a town called Nashville. It is a huge tourist attraction in the Fall for the leaves and shops. IT s a town of about 20,000 that get hundred of thousand of vistors. Anyway they have them in the shops there and people eat them up to put in their home as decorations. I don't pick any until after the 1st frost.
