huntrman
I was just sitting around pondering some things and I am thinking about changing sights yet again. I am wanting to try the vertical pins that I keep seeing everyone have. I am thinking of getting one of the Trophy Ridge sights, but am wondering how easy it is to use one of these sights with the 3 or 5 vertical pins. If anyone has one, please let me know what you think of them. Thanks.
mitrrophybowhunter
Re: Vertical Pins? I have the trophy ridge matrix and love it. They are very easy to adjust. Funny thing..........as soon as I moved the complete sight housing to be on at 20 yards the 30 and 40 yard pins were right on. Just good luck there. CDubWSR
Re: Vertical Pins? i have a trophy ridge nitro that i just got about a week ago with my new hoyt. so far i like it alot. i like the gang ajustment and how they are automatically in line so your bow has to be tuned right for them to shoot correctly laterally. the one thing i have noticed is when i am shooting my block, i tend to aim a little low with the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th pin b/c there isnt a space between them to really see the dot, but the more i shoot it the less and less of a problem that has ben. but when i am shooting my 3d target i have had no problems so it should be great for hunting. LifeNRA
Re: Vertical Pins? I have the Micro Matrix with the .019 pins. So far I love it. I like the idea the pins are all in line. Makes for a bigger sight picture. Compared to what was on my bow. Then again that sight was ok too. Being 42 I have no problem seeing the smaller pins. Mirage
Re: Vertical Pins? I HAD the trophy ridge sights but took them off and went to a 35 dollar traditional sight, I could not get used to the vertical sights, I guess from shooting so long with horizontal, I took several deer with them but still couldnt get used to them
HarvDog
Re: Vertical Pins? I just started using a Trophy Ridge 3 pin vertical sight. The pins are extremely easy to adjust up and down with no tools. I really like the sight.
Guest tunkhannockbowhunter
Re: Vertical Pins? i think the biggest advantage is when youre hunting with them. you just put the pins directly in line with the back of the front leg, it helps a lot. mo_hunter
Re: Vertical Pins? I love mine. I have a 5 pin which is nice for target practice out to 60 yards. For hunting only I would use a 3 pin IMO.
HarvDog
Re: Vertical Pins? I guess since this is only my second year bow hunting, I didn't get use to horizontal pins. We'll see how I do while hunting with the vertical pins this year. I've been shooting well at the targets.
Missed160
Re: Vertical Pins? I tried vertical pins, I didn't like them. I couldn't get used to the pins coving the spot I wanted to shoot. I know horizontal pins do also, but I thought I could get a better picture being able to see the top & bottom of the spot I wanted to hit. jbeck
Re: Vertical Pins? I didn't like them in the low light conditions. Just not a big enough pin for low light.
