well actually whitetailkiller is kinda right to an extent, its like this, would you rather go meet a girl if your a scrawny fella?or would you rather go meet a girl if you got some muscles, and look big?Its the same with deer, so they "swell" up to impress the does.....just my point of view, i might not even be right, but it sounds right.

I've got to disagree. I think the begger neck picture is just later in the year, ie. he has rubbed more.

I've cut out way too many neck roasts to believe that the swelling is harmonal.
