Re: wtb: old baker style climbing tree stands

A Baker climber was one of the first (if not the first) climbing stand made. It was a piece of plywood bolted to hunks of angle. No such thing as a climbing aid...wrapped your arms around the tree and pulled your feet to you. Slide back down about half of what you just climbed. By the time you got to the height you wanted to hunt and climbed back down...you had road rash on your chest and forarms!

I'm not exactly sure what a baker is. But I have an old API with the v-bars that I don't want.

The baker was developed by the medical groups to increase buisness. They had a decrease in blunt force trama, and this was a great way to up the attendence at the ER. At that time no one used safety straps. laugh.gif

What do you want with a Baker stand? I do still have my original baker hanging in the garage, also have the baker hand climbing aid. I really liked the ease of getting down after the hunt was completed, I just wrapped my arms around the tree and slid to the ground..had the make sure I had the heavy jumpsuit on or the price was brutal.
