wtnhunt
Re: How Many Hunters Guess it would depend on what expectations they could give me and if they were reputable. $600-800 seems pretty cheap to me.

jbeck
Re: How Many Hunters Heck, I hunt out at the Pap's ranch in Montana. Lets see, License: 360.00, Air fare: 900.00 ( have to take the wife and daughter) one day hotel stay in Billings: 80.00, Meals to and from ranch: 100.00, total: $1,440.00. This doesn't inclued the shoping money my wife needs, cause she's bored at the ranch. Ya know Kansas ain't looking bad. LOL
Rhino
Re: How Many Hunters Probably not. Usually there's a reason for a lower price. Could mean more hunters on the place, lesser quality bucks are the norm, total buck kills are higher thus reducing older age classes, etc. To be honest, during prime time hunting periods (the rut) the quality of bucks available in an area in huntable numbers is far more important for me. When I go on the road to hunt my time and opportunites for the trophy I'm after are more valuable to me than saving a few dollars on the cost of the hunt. I'd rather pay twice the price or even more to hunt a place that limits the age and quality of bucks killed and takes fewer hunters each year thus reducing hunting pressure on those mature bucks. I was invited to join a few guys on a reasonably priced hunt in Illinois this year. The guy checking out the place got all excited because they saw some nice P&Y class bucks last year and they killed a few of them during bow season. The owner said most of the better bucks seen during bow season were killed during muzzleloader season. The guy checking it out got all excited because of the nice bucks that were killed. I lost all interest in going because we would be facing hunting last year's young bucks since very few of the older age class bucks survived according to the owner. Illinoisbowhunter
Re: How Many Hunters I would prob pass, the hunting doesnt get much better here in Illinois. That and Nebraska is too far, with my schedule it would be impossible to find the time. Now if this was with an outfitter in IL, I would have said yes. Cant turn down hunting the Golden Triangle. TexasDeerHunter
Re: How Many Hunters I would probably go if I did not have a place up in Kansas to hunt. Sounds really cheap and I would not bat an eye to pay that price for that country. That kinda money in Texas gets you a 2 day hunt for deer under 130 inches on a place that most likely has alot of hunters and pressure.Sounds like a great deal there twodogs. BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: How Many Hunters I got everything I need her in Iowa but you have tro remember that the 1500 dollar price gets there from there being so much demand to hunt .... if you get 800 bucks for a hunt and they harvest a deer there every time that gets around pretty soon you have 50 hunters for 800 bucks and then you say well lets see if I can get 1200 and then you only get 35 hunters then you get 1500 a hunt and so on and so on till you get just quality hunts then you are right there with the rest of the outfitters... basically there is a reason why they are 1500 dollar hunts.
