Adirondack hunting camps

So in June when I was in the Adirondacks and we spent a week hiking, I got to see me first real Adirondack hunting camp. My professor who also is a hunter, has alot of knowledge about the hunting camps, historically. Let's just say there is somethign special about them, maybe it is being a small cabin in the middle of nowhere. We looked in the windows and I saw some beatufiful racks on the walls. There were old bunkbeds, not even made, lol, and washed dishes piled in the sinks. Just looking at it, I could tell that guys must spend many days out there just hunting. The outside of the cabin on a porch had a bunch of racks also, and old bottle sitting on the railings. there was an outhouse with a skull nailed to the door. Maybe it is because it is rustic but I don't think I'd mind having my own camp! Anyone else seen these camps? They are so cool, lol grin.gif

Re: Adirondack hunting camps

Thanks TGirl! It is a fairly new camp, built in 1999. The gentleman (my cousin) in the red shirt is our Lodge Commander, his name is Tom. He owns the camp and property. The shed he is holding was found this last spring. We don't see many deer but when we do they usually look like that one. With the exception of one spike the smallest buck ever seen on the property is a 6 point.

Glad everyone is enjoying the pics
