Re: Rattle Antlers or Rattle Bag???

I have an HS bag. Last year on a slow day, I was playing witht he bag, and my Knight and Hale EZ grunter. Puit hem down hit the can a couple times, and I hear something. You know that sound of win coming through the trees at a distance? Thats what I thought it was at first. After a few seconds I realized it was a deer running wide open. Finally saw him about 300 yards away, on a beeline to me. Dropped him at 60 yards. Wasn't a mature buck, was a 1 1/2 yo 6 pointer, but I was flat out amazed that I actually rattled a deer in, on heavily hunted state land. Rattle bags do work!

I find real antlers work best. The bigger the better. I'm currently using a set of mule deer antlers to rattle for whitetails. I sometimes use the dynamite sticks if I can't carry a big set of antlers around with me. Don't care for the type in the bags, they always sound muffled to me.
