ny_gun
Re: Taxidermy Try Ray Stone (585-335-7138) in Dansville or John Jones (607-545-6099) in Canaseraga. I have had work done by both and have been very happy. Here are some examples of their work: Ray Stone: John Jones :

RTF
Re: Taxidermy [ QUOTE ] They should be painted a slight pinkish color. . [/ QUOTE ] I have to disagree. This is not true for all specimens.
RTF
Re: Taxidermy [ QUOTE ] Just look at pictures of real live deer, the inside of the ear does not have a brown dead look inside of the ear. If you look at pictures of Quality Taxidermist mount's you will see what i mean. [/ QUOTE ] That means nothing. I have done a ton of deer and all have different ears. Very few come in with the perfect pinkish ear. Some have way too much hair to see any color or they are an off stained color. I had one customer threaten to shoot me if I had put any pink back into the ear.Now maybe different parts of the country, the deer have thinner ears then the great woods of the north and are able to sport some pink that is visible to the eye.
