LifeNRA
Re: I Love this stuff!! Guys in here say bend at the waist and shoot normal! I keep telling myself this! Because this is my first year bowhunting too! Sounds like you still had a good day!
mainebuck
Re: I Love this stuff!! awesome hunt. you should practice out of your stand. maybe just atleast shoot an arrow with a fieldtip at a distinct leaf on the ground when you first get in the stand. Like LifeNRA said, bend at the waste.

BowJoe
Re: I Love this stuff!! COngradulations on your first miss. LOL. You will have many more to come and hopefully a few great shots as well. Use what you learn and in no time you'll be making a lot more hits than misses. Even the best miss sometimes but it's how hard they try to correct that mistake that made them the best.
BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: I Love this stuff!! [ QUOTE ] The fawns wouldn't do well without their mom, i probably wouldn't have shot her. [/ QUOTE ] This late in the year they would have been fine I would have orphaned em Specially since its his first chance at a bow kill thats the most important thing here. They are right though you need to shoot from your stand so you get an idea how you will shoot arrow flight ect. Its ok that you missed just need lotsa practice there is no substitue for practice GL next .... it will all come together very soon.

Guest Jeremiah_Johnson
Re: I Love this stuff!! Try ranging trees around your stand and practice scenarios complete with picking pins. Then when the deer walk through you'll have already taken the yardage guess out of the equation. Use a laser range finder, or just step off some mental markers while approaching your tree. Use that open/waiting time to tip the odds in your favor. The less you have to think during "the moment" the better.
