VTbowman
I asked this last year but can't seem to find my post. I have a Ruger BlackHawk .357 Mag revolver and want a good deer ammo for it. I plan to carry it this rifle season full time incase I get a nice bow ranged shot at a deer. I think someone suggested a 158g Winchester brand but can not remember the specifics. Thanks!
VTbowman
Re: Ammo suggestion for deer. For that matter, what about for black bear 300# range for the same gun? (Back up gun) Thanks.
HarvDog
Re: Ammo suggestion for deer. Well, I haven't hunted with these yet but I will be loading with Speer Gold Dot 158gr hollow points.
hangunnr
Re: Ammo suggestion for deer. Is this the post you were looking for? The Winchester ammo loaded with the Nosler Partition handgun bullet is still IMO the best on the market. This isn't by any stretch a bear load but would be the best offering if that is the only chambering you have available. hangunnr
VTbowman
Re: Ammo suggestion for deer. Yep that is my old post for sure. Thanks buddie. I am off to the gun shop for some ammo it looks like. I was surpized to see it in 180g over 158g, but if you say so. LOL Thanks again.
