I have a lone wolf stand and it's got a bow holder built into the platform. Nock your arrow right away to avoid as much movement as possible when you see the deer. I always draw back my bow a couple times when I get in the stand, just to loosen up...or something. You want to hang it kind of high, then hang your bow on that with an arrow nocked. Trust me, sitting with your bow constantly on your lap gets fatiguing quick.
