Re: sleeping bag question?

I used to have a Canadian military sleeping bag and liked it except for the cramped upper body girth. It was a 2-pc. down filled bag(inner & outer) w/ liner, good to -40 degrees. I now use a NorthFace oversized mummy bag, with a synthetic fill. It is lighter but still extremely warm and comfortable.

Re: sleeping bag question?

thanks for all the replies guys. i decided on going down to our local gander mountain store and bought the yukon sleeping bag . its rated to 0 degrees, so i'll have to give it a try. i also bought a xl therma rest self inflating sleeping pad. so i hope this takes care of the cold nights.

Re: sleeping bag question?

Military bags will keep you warm, but they are small. I think you can find a civilian bag that is just as warm, and will be roomier (more comfortable)

Just a thought, when I bought my bag, I bought one with a liner, so I can remove the liner & be comfortable when it is warmer. When it is really cold, I add the liner back and it is really warm..
