Closer shots on things like pointed pheasant or tight sitting bunnies you want to go with Improved Cylinder. Farther shots, like flushed pheasant out to 30-40 yards, modified would be better. Long shots like ducks or geese, you might want to go to a full choke. Really tight patterns like for turkey hunting get one of the super tight fulls.
