AJ
Re: .300 saum It's a decent cartridge. Unfortunately, its not as popular as the WSM, so how much longer it will survive, is unknown. The good thing is years from now if ammo is unavailable, you can always have it re-chambered for the WSM. Guest generallee
Re: .300 saum I actually baught it in january from a friend who owns a small reloading and gun shop in wisconsin. He gave me a good deal. I believe i remember him saying they dont even make it anymore. I save all my brass anyway and have him reload it for me. Im glad i baught it and cant wait to use it in the field.

TexasDeerHunter
Re: .300 saum Ironic thing about this cartridge is that Remington developed the short mag before Winchester. It just so happened that while Remington was testing and waiting to release it, along comes Winchester and puts theirs on the market. Needless to say, Winchester is alot more popular now. They both are excellent cartridges and the Remington actually slightly out performs the Winchester. Definately save the brass. Good Luck. AJ
Re: .300 saum Good point TDH. Remington did more engineering with their smaller SAUM cartridges than Winchester did. Remington tested and changed the case dimentions of the 7mm SAUM to make it more efficient/accurate where Winchester just necked down the 300 WSM. This actually hurt Remington offering since those with magnumitis wanted the largest capacity.
