Bass Fishing in September!

Today, because all of my buddies got jobs and were working, I decided to go fishing at the reservoir behind my house and do a little fishing. Once I get down there and set up with a worm on the hook, I realize that I forgot my bobber. <_< But that turned out to be a good thing because I brought a few lures, one of a mayfly, one of a baby trout and a spinner. Need less to say, I caught my limit on smallmouth and largemouth really quick. I couldn't believe how these fish were biting this time of the year. I have never caught a fish down there until today.

I think it is one of 2 things that is making them go nuts:

The drought has lowered the water level and there is more competition for food

OR

They know that the cold weather is quickly approaching and they need to fatten up.

Any ideas?

Re: Bass Fishing in September!

You are right on both counts Joe.

I love to bass fish on the river here when it is hasn't rained in a long time. The bass tear it up!!! Then again, everything else bites too.
