Turkeygirl
Thought I'd post this photo of many various gourds I grew this year in my garden. There are still a few left down with a few pumpkins but these are the majority of them. I'm working on putting them on our table out front to sell. Enjoy! By the way the long, green one on the right of the picture is called a Snake Gourd and is close to 3 feet long! The green ones in the back are called Dinosaur gourds. All the others have names but I don't know them all

Turkeygirl
Re: Some my garden product Most gourds you can't eat but the long green one on the right of the photo is edible. We deep fried it the other night and dipped it in a special sauce my mom made. She loves Asian food and has a ton of cookbooks. It is easier to take the skin off though when it is younger, as the skin was really really hard and we had to use a huge knife to get it off. When gourds are ready to be picked, their skin turns hard. Therefore you can't eat most gourds but I suppose if you tried before the skin got hard, maybe you could but I wouldn't advise it:-)
