dartonman
I have put off getting the bowhunting gear out and blasting targets for well too long....my new Darton Maverick had cobwebs on it...ugggg...thats not good....good thing the bow can almost shoot without me.....but, Im back into the groove....does anyone else feel like me...I mean, I am now on mandatory six days a week work, three boys in football, the other son, an active two year old, and a working nurse wife, who works midnights, and is due in January with our 5th......I dream of the trees, the stands, the woods, just running in slow motion.......so, to all of those with the plates full of other activities....how do you get the shooting time in..........thanks for listening to my ramblings............I am shooting 2 inch groups at 15, and still touching most of them at 25 in a 3-4 inch group, but ohhh...I used to be so much better than this...al
mainebuck
Re: ***Shame on me, need to get motivated******* I hear ya man. I've got 2 girls, not nearly the handful you have, but it's tough with work and family to find the time. I shoot every 2 or 3 days. It was more over the summer when I wasn't shooting as well. Shooting feels good when I do shoot now and I'm hitting good out to 40. Just trying to maintain now. It's tough to get in the stand as much as we'd like to and not feel guilty about not being with the family. It's definitely a balancing act. Tominator
Re: ***Shame on me, need to get motivated******* Yep, got 4 myself Al. 1 is playing football every night, and my daughter is cheerleading again. Thankfully my oldest can now watch the youngest with not too much trouble, so that frees me up a bit. My day usually goes like this: work, home, get the kids on the homework while I make dinner, get the two middle ones ready for practice, either go to practice or stay here and do laundry, cut the lawn, etc. after practice, watch an hour of tube, and off to la la land. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. That will be my schedule for the next 3 weeks. Hang in there, it gets better as the kids get older.
buckee
Re: ***Shame on me, need to get motivated******* Yes Al buddy...I feel like you this year too. The season has been open here since August 27th, and I haven't gotten out yet. I finally got my confidence back up with shooting the bow, and just got my grass blind made today, and put out. I've been working 6 days a week too.
huntn4bucks
Re: ***Shame on me, need to get motivated******* I know exactly what you mean. I've been so busy this summer. This is probably the least prepared I've ever been for the upcoming deer season.
BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: ***Shame on me, need to get motivated******* I cant say that; I have been ready for deer season since turkey season ended, bow is all tuned up, stands all done and lanes are all cut, plots are in cant wait for the 1st. MrWiggely
Re: ***Shame on me, need to get motivated******* I hear ya Al. I have been in a rut lately myself. Working too darn hard, still rebuilding the house and chasing a couple of wild boys around has kept me from doing much shooting. I have started getting in to it a bit lately. Thank god, season is only about 2 1/2 weeks away ! Good luck AL! Todd
