Griz
I had to relocate a stand the other day so I could get just a little closer to the deer as they move through. Anyway, When I went out for a evening hunt and got in my stand and all. I thought I better draw my bow back and make sure nothing was in the way and if the was I needed to get-r-done and fix it... Well when I drew the bow back I looked through the peep at my sight pin and the pin was real super foggy. I'm thinking at this time. That my eyes are fading out... I let down a started checking things out and a little ole spider spun a web inside my peep..LOL. I got a stick and fixed the problem. This is the first time I have had this happen to me. I always preflight my bow in and out of the woods, to make sure everything is in good shape. Has anything odd like this ever happen to you? And also how many of you do the same, Check everything out before you start hunting....

buckee
Re: That crazy little critter........ I've had water in my peep, but not a spider web. Sure glad you spotted it now and not when you were trying to pull up on a nice buck in the fading light...

MCH
Re: That crazy little critter........ Never had it happen to me, but funny you should mention spiders and hunting. Down here we've got these huge yellowish/orange quarter-sized spiders everywhere. Usually, I'll walk through a couple of their webs heading to different stand locations. Sometimes I would find one crawling on my clothes or equipment. But last Sunday, I crawled into my truck for the mornings hunt. Opened the door and there above the passenger seat was a huge web. The spider must have hitched a ride and figured he wasn't getting out of the truck so he might as well make himself at home. Now I'm not scared of spiders but that sure gave me the creeps.
