fisherguy
Re: ontario turkeys Ya, the poplulation has really taken off in teh last 10 years or so. it seems that once you get a bit south of Ottawa there is a pretty good polulation form there on south. I only wish they could survive up here, they are fun to hunt.
AdrianJHare
Re: ontario turkeys I've hunted bird in Ontario since back in /89 and the population has gained well. The winters are still and can be still a problem along with the predators that prey on them. It would be nice to see the MNR start a fall hunt to control the hen population in the next couple years , it would help with the traveling in the fall to get a good Fall hunt in. I'm seeing more and more Americans coming up to hunt in the spring and for the price with a 2 bird limit , it is well worth it for them...BT

[/ QUOTE ] Nope, it wouldn't be him... he's in Golden Lake, which is about an hour east of Algonquin Park on Hwy 60, and about an hour and a half west of Ottawa. MossySNPR
Re: ontario turkeys Adrian I also believe the MNR needs to have a fall hunt to control hen populations. We have more than enough hens, I think where I am the hens are 5 - 1 with the gobblers.
