6sixpoint_nobrows
Re: Team Renzos good to here from ya dan......well boys tonight was a awesome night, my buddy and i gopt into our ground blind we built yesturday and waited in the unbareabke cold until about 4 45. then i looked and said travis dont move there is a doe about 5 feet away from you...i dont know who but she snuck up on us and when i looked she was about 5 feet away from us...and still coming to us, the ground blind we built is pretty sweet, they have no idea that we are there, well i couldnt get my bow and she came around to our back side and only about 5 feet away still, and she saw us and snorted and ran, i quickly gave a baaaah! and she stopped at 30 yards and i told my buddy do smoke her, he drew back on her and fired this whole time i was like thats a dead deer, all the sudden his arrowgrazes a tree and goes flying every which was, we then looked at her and were amazed to see about 15 white tails go up and about 5 of them had racks! i was so mad... that was about our evening, we got some more brush and gathered it up and made out blind a little better so if the deer does manage to get to our backside, we are still covered good...tonight was my last night with my bow until monday, our shotgun season opens up friday, we think buy getting out of there until monday all the deer that are spooked from this weekend will filter into this ground as a refuge and come monday it will be open season on them...wish me luck...good luck to everyone on team renzos

Bow Hunter Derek
Re: Team Renzos Good luck to all the Renzo boys. I'm flying out at 7:00 am in the morning. Not a hunting trip unfortunately. I'm heading off with the wife and kids to Disney World and Siesta Key for the holiday week. My job kind of dictates when I can take vacation and the middle of gun season was all I could get this year. Oh well, I usually don't hunt a lot of gun season anyway. I'll let my farms sit and all the gun hunters can push the deer into my ground. When I get back muzzleloader and late bow will soon open up and maybe I can find me a late season big boy. Good luck all. I'll be thinking of you while my toes are in the sand and I've got a cold one in my hand.
billkay
Re: Team Renzos We went to DW a few years ago. It was awesome, even for an adult. We stayed on the property and took their bus service everywhere. Have a great time and don't forget to check out the scuba/snorkeling at Typhoon Lagoon. It was one of the coolest parts of the trip. 10acboy
Re: Team Renzos Well boys our m/l season is over. I could have killed a ton of bucks. I only had two does within range during the season. I could have taken a black bear on Friday, but I didn't really need a black bear so I didn't take a shot. Here is my 9. He is my largest buck to date. I saw him late in the morning riding this ridge and I grunted to him, but he didn't want any part of it. I then used the can and he turned on the dime. He came in directly behind be (quartering away when I finally saw him). I didn't like the shot, but I took it anyway. He went about 80 yards and I had to put another shot in him to put him down for good. He was a big deer - the pics don't do him justice. We estimate his weight at 180 - 185. I brought my oldest boy (10 yrs) out to the farm. They can kill a doe anytime during the year. He's shooting a 30-30 and only feels comfortable out to 50 yards with open sights. We saw five does and he was looking down the barrel at one that was probably close to 100 yards, but I wouldn't let him take the shot. The doe just would not turn broadside and it was getting dark. You should have heard him, all nervous, teeth chattering, he had doe fever boys and I will never forget it. He's hooked now, so I think that I have a hunting partner now. He can't stop talking about it. It was priceless. He told me now he understands why I hunt all the time. He asked me if the sun always sets and gives off those purple and orange colors. I told him that the only way he'll know is to hunt with me more often, and sit back and enjoy those sunsets.

6sixpoint_nobrows
Re: Team Renzos well boys, i couldnt make a good shot on my deer this weekend...it was 1st season shotgun season and there were two does abvout 45 yards away, i shot at them and missed, then shot again, still missed, then they ran off into the timber, and then i heard my dad shoot, he said they walked by him at about 3 feet! he was on the ground, he said he didnt know whether to shoot the deer that close or bash it with his gun...lol...he just let them walk by in fright because of my shooting at them, and then he shot one....i then went around the area walking with my gun and my dad got on the radio and told me to be careful because this HUGE buck was only about 30 yards away from me, i couldnt see him at all though....the buck eventuly worked his way around and went south, if i just would of stepped out of this little bend in the timber i would of had a shot at him....o well.....also i lost 84 acres of timber to hunt because turns out the latyer that supposeley owed it ''ruth jackson'' and told me i could hunt it is crazy and she is the wrong ''ruth jackson'' so now i cant hunt this ground anymore... the real ruth lives in chicago and has some local guys farm the ground...they are idiots and they control who hunts there, nobody hunts the ground anymore and it just stis there....what a weekend

Guest cornbread
Re: Team Renzos I started hunting wed. evening and hunted thru sunday morning. Thanksgiving morning I saw 4 diffrent bucks but they were all little. I saw deer everytime that I went to the woods. Friday evening I took my 7 year old cousin with me. We have a box stand that sits on a hardwood ridge with a small food plot about 60 yards away. After about an hour a little doe walks into the food plot and I let Zach take the shot. He is shooting the same gun that I killed my first deer with many years ago, its an old ruger 44 carbine. Well im trying to Video, watch the deer, and coach Zach all the while shakeing more than anytime im holding the gun. Zach finds the deer in the scope and filps the safety off and boom. Well he drew blood but it was not from the deer but the scope caught him and cut him open over the eye and along the side of the nose. I was able to wack a doe saturday morning at about 21 yards, it went about 20 yards and piled up. No more points for our team but some more meat for the freezer. Im leaving early tuesday morning for Illinois. Im still have a archery tag and im going to see if I can poke a hole in one before second gun season starts. I will be back the middle of next week hopfully with some pictures and beable to trade in my doe for a buck. Good luck to all of yall and I will tell yall all about it next week. 6sixpoint_nobrows
Re: Team Renzos well good lcuk to ya cornbread.....im a little disappointed right now..i have been hunting this one timber HARD there are a lot of good bucks in there, but i havent been seeing much, well the other day my buddy came in while i was hunting to hang a stand, were does he put it, about 20 yards in front of my stand were all the deer come from! i was so mad, but he wouldnt listen to me, so i was like well fine im out of here, so i took my stand down and moved it about 200 yards to the other ridge, were there are a few small rubs and a scrape....i got in the stand tonight and was completly bummed on were i was sitting, i know it not a very good spot, but in the other spot there isnt much of a point to sit there because my buddy will shoot anything before it gets the chance to come by me....so tinight after sitting for about an hour i left a little upset....i dont know what im going to do but hopefully something gives soon...good luck to you guys
GWSmith
Re: Team Renzos Man did we ever have a great time!!! He took that 8 Point Buck(211 lbs dressed out) on Monday and made a great shot, he waited for what he said was 7-8 minutes until the buck turned broadside, and the shot was close to the 250 yard range! I was down in the woods tracking my first doe that I had shot at 7:15AM, after a parade of deer that had gone by me earlier, when I heard him shoot. I had a setup of 3 feeding doe decoys out in front of me and grunted as the group that my doe was in came out of the woods, they saw the decoys and started walking towards them, I took a shot as the big doe(173 lbs dressed out) At first I did not think it was him because there was only one shot...LOL...that was at 8:30 AM. I had set out 2 feeding doe decoys in front of him at about 75 yds with the white plastic handles from grocery bags tied on for tails that where moving in the breeze. He said the buck came out saw the decoys and started walking towards them and him(very slowly) while looking to each side, feeding, and doing more looking with almost each step. Meanwhile I had found my doe and field dressed her and returned to the top of the hill to retrieve my game cart and give him the keys to the truck so that when he was done hunting he could just drive around and pick me up at the bottom of the hill...it is a big hill...There was no way I was dragging that doe uphill even with the game cart!!! I was at the game cart and heard noises on the top of the hill and saw deer movement shortly afterwards 2 deer one doe and a small 6 pointer came off the hill running around the base in my direction...until I raised my hands and loudly said "HEY DEER" to which they promptly made a direction change So I start heading around towards where my dad is to find him being helped out by another hunter pulling the game cart. I could not see the deer yet so I moved closer after he said he finally got a good one... I could not be happier for him!!! High Winds and Weird Weather changes kept deer movement down to a minimum but while doing small pushes towards each other after 9-10 in the morning we did see alot of deer but passed on shots on small bucks. We would sit in stand sites during the early morning and then do small pushes afterwards to get the deer up. I found deer beds that where completely dry during rain and snow while pushing towards my Dad through the brush so the method works...it got them moving anyways. I got my second doe(156 lbs dressed out) on Friday and was lucky enough to capture the hunt on video I had just made a move to a more open spot to get better video and 10 minutes later the deer showed up! We used the Renzo's Decoys on all of our hunts and found that when the deer saw them they calmed down, sometimes even from running, and even turned and started walking towards them! Dad said: "Bring them Decoy things again next year"...LOL...wonder why  My 2 Does and the best picture I have ever taken of my License
