i have 3 areas i hunt, i have been bowhunting two of them but i have saved the third. its right around the corner from my 70 year old dads house. and ive been saving it to take him muzzleloading a week from this sat.we took a walk there today to check out the stands and someone stole my big tripod stand and a great metal stand that my wife uses.(used)it must of taken them hours to take them apart and lug them through the swamp where they were.i am so peed off.i use a climber but my father cant and now this.i dont have enough time or money to replace them right now so i will have to save up. i hope they have a nice time hunting in them.

its funny all of you complain about the same problem but i dont see anyone doing anything about it? when u catch someone on your private property CALL THE POLICE .....poaching isnt just gunna stop one day...u have to start tryng to put a stop to it...these are the idiots who give hunters a bad name why do u continue to let them do what they want to do

Re: They got me!

I feel your pain. Last year my wife and kids got me a trail camera for fathers day. The first time I put it out someone stole it! The first time!!!! I never even got to see a single picture off of it!

Only a couple of people hunt in my area so I have a good idea who did it but I can't prove it.

Cuddeback is next to impossible to steal. Place it near your lock-on and you'll know who the crook is.

My loc-on's and ladder stand are marked with my name and address and I have them locked to the tree. I've never had one stolen, but if I do I'll report it to the police (just to make sure it's documented). I'm getting a Cuddeback for Christmas - then I'll either have a picture of the thief or a broken camera to boot.

HEY!!!

Just had an idea!!! I know - rare event, someone write it down.

Leave a note on all your stands that says you have a trail camera watching this stand. They'll go nuts trying to find it!!! LOL! Maybe they'll leave your stuff alone though - just a thought.

Re: They got me!

sad thing is the people that stole them are going to use them for hunting. They are not hunters, they are scum, pieces of trash, feces, etc. If they were real hunters or sportsman they would have left well enough alone.

I hate thieves, they can burn in *ell!! To steal from another person is just not right, don't get the mentality of people! I feel someday they will get their just reward, might not be today, might not be tomorrow, but they will get something in return!!

God was watching them when they took the stands and they will have to face him!!

Re: They got me!

Jeremiah, good idea! Made me laugh. I can just see some backwoods redneck freakin' out thinking he is on camera trying to steal your stand.shocked.gif, runnin around from tree to tree lookin for it. LMAO grin.gif

Your also probably right, the threat of being photographed while stealing your stand would be a great deterent.

Re: They got me!

May the thieves hunting season be plagued with bad luck!

This may be far fetched but if the property owners were unsure of the owner of the stand they may have taken it down. This happened to my friend this year. He thought that it was stolen so when he went to talk to the landowner the guy told him that he had taken it down because he thought that it belonged to someone else. The landowner needs to know who the stand belongs to and where it is located on their property.
