Illinoisbowhunter
Re: intimidation..... I woud like to see what that buck looks like in your sig Now! That was early july he had plenty of growing left to do. Mature bucks are very hard to hunt, you just got to know when to go in and stay out. Hunt the wind and if a spot isnt producing dont be afraid to switch it up. If you can find his bed, you have nearly patterned him completely! Good luck. Mach1
Re: intimidation..... If they all avoided hunters, there wouldn't be any monsters on the walls of hunters everywhere.
dogdoc
Re: intimidation..... remember--they didn't get that big by being stupid. A mature buck become very aware of his surrounding---heck it's his home. But every now and then they let their hormones do the thinking for them and make a mistake---you just have to be there when they make that mistake. Majority of the cam pics I get of big mature bucks are at night--but every now and then I get the pic of the big boys during daylight hours. You just have to hunt them smart----always play the wind--if the wind isn't just right for a particular stand--don't hunt it! Always practice the best scent control you can and do your very best to stay alert--especially the first hour of light and the last hour of light! best of luck todd
Guest lostiniowa
Re: intimidation..... # 1 use the wind also use buck urine I like the one's gathered from one specific Buck if you contiue to put this in his scrapes he will eventually come out before it is dark to investigate. I had success using this tactic last year and arrowed a very nice 10 pt. It works best if you can hunt 3-4 days in a row. Its the old stetson analagy. If you come home from work and smell stetson after a couple of days you will come home a couple hours early to check on things! good luck

wtnhunt
Re: intimidation..... [ QUOTE ] Find the does and you'll find the bucks. Don't put too much pressure on them. [/ QUOTE ] Yep, would definitely not pressure them too much.
bowhtr1
Re: intimidation..... Hunt the middle of the day in the rut. Big boys make big mistakes during this time. Also hunt as much as you can during the rut. In the later part of the rut you may find bucks roaming from other locations so pressure is not a problem. Just try and keep sent free and make as little disturbance as possible. Good luck.
Tsmola
Re: intimidation..... [ QUOTE ] "If it bleeds, you can kill it"...... [/ QUOTE ] "No it didn't kill you because you weren't armed!" "No sport!" Off topic I know, I just love that movie.
Tominator
Re: intimidation..... Maybe try and hold off on hunting them until you know the rut is in full swing. Maybe they'll let their guard down a bit.
