AaronS
Will you be stillhunting or stand hunting? For stand hunting in cold weather, I wear my normal lighter weight boots and slip on my pair of Arctic Shield boot blankets when I get in the stand. They work great. bulldawg
Re: What boots for hunting in really cold weather? When it gets that cold, I agree with Gator...Sorels, rated AT LEAST for -100. Wear a sock liner under a wicking merino wool sock rated for extreme cold, and you can hunt or ice fish all day in comfort!!
Chrud
Re: What boots for hunting in really cold weather? Rocky SnowStalker Extremes. I have the older version from a couple years ago, 1000 grams of Thinsulate and Hardwoods camo. Now I believe they are 1200 grams and in Hardwoods Green HD. Awesome boots! I believe they are rated for -135 degrees. If you loosen the laces a bit in the stand, you'll be very happy with how warm your feet stay. I just use regular socks too, nothing special. snapper
Re: What boots for hunting in really cold weather? I also have an older pair of Rocky snowstalkers...can't complain! Alot of your better boots will work...just need to wick the sweat away from your feet and don't buy boots too small.

bwlacy
Re: What boots for hunting in really cold weather? Well I've had Sorel, and LaCrosse boots and my feet still got cold during a long sit. The best boots I've found are Army surplus Mickey Mouse boots. You still need good socks to wick away the moisture and an outer sock to keep your foot warm. But they are alot warmer than any other boot I've tried. I've sat in -10 with a strong wind in the UP of Michigan and my feet didn't get cold. Also the surplus boots are alot cheaper than the other boots. WaCoyote
Re: What boots for hunting in really cold weather? SORELS for sure. They are the best cold weather boot I've owned and have used them many times in subzero stuff. They are also very comfortable. The rubber boot holds in heat as rubber is an excellent insulator and the high uppers are nice too if you have to cross a creek or something.
